Somatic Breathwork
Your body holds your stories. Breathwork helps you to access them.
There are experiences we can’t think our way through. Emotions that live beneath language. Tension stored not in memory, but in muscle, fascia, and nervous system patterning.
Somatic Breathwork is an invitation to move beyond analysis and into direct experience. Through intentional breath patterns, we create space for the body to release what it has been carrying, and to reconnect with its natural rhythm of activation and restoration.
Through breath, we are creating a safe container where whatever is ready to surface can do so.
What is Somatic Breathwork?
Somatic Breathwork works directly with the body and the nervous system.
In the first phase of the session, we use activating, open-mouth breathing to gently stimulate and energize the system. This can bring suppressed emotions, memories, sensations, or insights into awareness. The body may tremble, heat, tingle, move, or express. This is not dysfunction, it is discharge. It is where stuck energy can complete its cycle.
The second phase transitions into slower, nasal breathing. This signals safety in the body. The nervous system begins to settle, reorganize, and integrate. What surfaced is not left raw or unresolved, it is metabolized, softened, and woven back into wholeness.
Together, these two phases create a powerful arc: activation and integration; expression and restoration; release and return.
What You Might Be Navigating
People are often drawn to somatic breathwork when they feel stuck in their heads, disconnected from their bodies, or feel they are holding something that needs to be processed.
You might be:
- Carrying stress or tension that never fully resolves
- Feeling emotionally blocked, numb, or overwhelmed
- Processing grief, anger, or unexpressed emotion
- Moving through a life transition or identity shift
- Seeking a deeper connection to your body and intuition
- Looking to complement therapy, coaching, or spiritual work
- Longing for a safe way to release what words cannot touch
Each session unfolds uniquely. Some experiences are subtle and grounding. Others are expansive and cathartic. In both cases, whatever is needed to be revealed, looked at, and processed is given a safe space to do so.
How We Work Together
Sessions are held in a carefully facilitated container designed for safety, consent, and nervous system awareness.
We begin by setting intention and clarifying what feels present for you. You’ll be guided step-by-step through the activating breath phase, with permission to move, sound, or express in whatever way feels natural and authentic.
Music and verbal guidance support the journey, while you remain fully aware and connected to your experience.
As we transition into nasal breathing, the energy shifts toward regulation and integration. This is often where clarity lands, insight crystallizes, and the body settles into a new baseline.
Afterward, we allow space for reflection, grounding, and sharing so what moved through you can be integrated into daily life.
Sessions are typically held virtually or in person (if applicable), and we’ll determine together what format and frequency best support your process.
What Becomes Possible
When the body is given permission to complete what it has been holding, something profound can happen.
Our clients often report:
- A deep sense of emotional release or lightness
- Reduced anxiety and improved stress resilience
- Greater connection to their body and inner signals
- Clarity around patterns or life direction
- Improved sleep and nervous system regulation
- A renewed sense of vitality and presence
- Moments of insight, spiritual connection, or expanded awareness
The breath is both ancient and immediate. It is one of the most direct pathways to healing we have.
Is Somatic Breathwork For You?
This work may be supportive if you’re ready to experience transformation through the body, and not just through conversation.
You don’t need prior experience. You don’t need to be “good” at breathing. You only need curiosity and a willingness to feel.
Somatic Breathwork is a space where your body is trusted, your expression is welcomed, and where activation is held with care and integration is honored.
Your system already knows how to return to balance.
Sometimes, it just needs the space to breathe.
